Fiji Police are attempting to raise public awareness about the problem of suicide as the latest statistics renew concerns that Fiji’s mental health services are inadequate. Already this year, there have been 18 suicides reported in Fiji and 27 suicide attempts. Fiji Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro is urging anyone struggling with mental health or suicidal thoughts to reach out to family and friends or to contact police.
